I was sitting on my cushion this morning, thinking I don’t know what the hell else I can write about? I don’t know what I can say about myself that I haven’t already shared. Now, don’t get nervous, this is not gonna be another Buddha story, about inhaling and exhaling and living in the moment, etc. This is just about some schmuck, who has gotten sucked into the habit of writing something new every week.
I probably ought to have some kind of license for my mind that gets renewed annually, because when nobody is watching, I can slip away into some weird shit. So, let’s take a ride in my mind and remember I have no idea what I’m doing. Thank you.
Earlier in the week, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos are actually children. I immediately thought of this ordinary freezer, filled with eggs and each and every one is a child. Without leaving the cushion, I also thought about getting arrested for murder by making a mushroom and cheese omelette. OK, so that’s where the whole chicken thing came into the beginning of a story I was going to write in a couple of days.
Keeping with stupid, Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo contradicted federal health guidelines on measles this week by not urging parents to vaccinate their children against one of the worlds most contagious diseases. 90% exposed will catch and it can be fatal to kids. Let’s protect those embryos, but fuck the kids.
Not to be outdone, I picked up another gem about a court upholding a Texas school district’s punishment of a kid refusing to change his hair style, because it is does not violate a new state law that prohibits race-based hair discrimination. I immediately thought about Iran and the incredible uproar over a young woman being killed, because she improperly wore her hijab. It ignited an incredible protest in a very dangerous country. However, here, in the home of the free and the land of the brave, fuck the kid and nobody takes to the street.
Did you know that nearly 2,000 books were proposed to be banned in 2023? You burn one Koran anywhere in the world and you are looking at serious violence. Here, who gives a shit? When it comes to books, what is written matters. Clearly, in some parts of the country, illiteracy rules the roost. Reading varying points of view is not education, it’s indoctrination to some.
When it comes to Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas, what she say and does doesn’t mean shit. This lady was very actively involved in overthrowing the election results of 2020 and her husband, who accepts millions from wealthy people with business before the court, thinks it’s all cool. The Supreme Court is filthy and that is kind of depressing, but sadly, not surprising these days.
I distinctly remember watching television on January 6, 2021 in utter disbelief at what I was witnessing. To me, it ranked with repeatedly watching the Twin Towers explode in flames. This was a stone cold insurrection and there are no other words for it. This was an attempt to overthrow the government of the United States. This no longer means shit anywhere, but it broke my heart and still does.
Can we talk for just a minute about guns in this country? No place seems to be safe from them. It could be an elementary school or a Super Bowl parade, people are being shot and killed. We no longer even do the bullshit of saying prayers for those innocent people, who happened to get in the way of a bullet.
Everyday, we read about the unbelievable violence in Mexico and where the fuck do you think the guns are “legally” coming from? What used to be tragedy is now a weekly statistic. Anyone talking about legislation?
Do you want to know why providing free school lunches is even a debate in the country? It is often the only meal some kids are going to have that day. Nobody asked the chickens what they thought.
We’re going to cut social security and medicare. Did you know that? After less than a month, social security stops being taken out of the checks of the wealthy. If you earn a million dollars a year in retirement, you still get your check for $2,500 from social security, while those with no retirement get nothing.
Let me talk for a minute about Trump and Biden. Trump is a criminal, who learned everything he needs to know from his millionaire dad, Fred. His dad played the court system like a Stradivarius, repeatedly accused of discriminating against minorities of all colors, wanting to rent apartments from him. Fuck the law. Do whatever you want, because no one could possibly believe what a scumbag you are. Like father, like son.
People are so pissed off about all I referred to above that they’d kiss a fucken rattle snake for revenge against the stacked deck we have all been dealt.
The best we can do in opposition is Joe Biden, who probably has someone tie his shoe laces, while his dog is biting another Secret Service agent. This motherfucker is so confused, he confused Macron with Mitterrand, who died over thirty years ago. Amongst other things, I can’t believe he is tolerating and supporting the slaughter in Gaza. On the other hand, this is the world he knows and he doesn’t have any idea about you and I.
I find it truly unbelievable that South Africa is leading the charge to hold Israel accountable for its slaughter in Gaza. Here are people, who have lived the inhumane cruelty of apartheid, having the courage to hold another accountable for the sins reigned upon them. Thousands and thousands of children have been killed in Gaza.
My people lived the Holocaust and experienced unimaginable cruelty and yet, here they are doing it to people so helpless, it defies every imaginable law of humanity. Shame. Shame. There is such suffering all over the world, in places like Haiti, Ecuador and Libya, but Beyonce is number one on the Country charts!
It is funny that nobody seems to use the word fascism anymore, confusing it with Adolf and Mussolini. Fascism is a coalescing of political power and money, coming together like a dagger to the heart of civility. There are some truly Leftist leaders in the world, but their countries are poor and abused victims of the fascistic societies in the west. Money has ascended to the throne of power in the world. It will crush any efforts to fight the sacrifices necessary to tackle climate change, guaranteed.
Putin murdered Alexei Navalny and Biden is going to put Julian Assange behind bars for 175 years, for the crime of embarrassing the US. Do you really think there’s a difference?
Last, but not least, AI is going to make fools of us all, because we are so intoxicated with our intellect, we are going let the machines fuck us over in ways we can’t imagine, but IT can and IT will.
God, it took me forever to get back to the chickens. I am not sure they could peck a future any more fucked up than our handiwork.
Now, I wrote this whole thing, because I have never been happier in my own life. All of the above is real and happening right now. At the same time, you and I can be thrilled to be here, right now and that’s the trick. No way, when I started this mini-diatribe, did I want to turn off the lights, into the blackness of nothingness. This is our challenge and it’s a bitch to pull off.
